On Tuesday, 4 March 2025, SYC proudly launched its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan at the iconic Adelaide Oval.
The event began with a powerful Welcome to Country and traditional performance by Jack Buckskin, a proud Kaurna and Narungga man, setting a deeply meaningful tone for the occasion. We were also honoured to welcome The Honourable Nat Cook MP, whose presence was especially meaningful as we greatly value the State Government's support as we work together to make a positive impact in the community.
The launch celebrated the unwavering dedication of our Reconciliation Action Working Group, led by co-chairs Scott Whitmore and Nic Jarvis. Their passion and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, inspiring SYC to continually strengthen our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, clients, and communities.
Designed to be implemented over the next two years, the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan focuses on building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while piloting new strategies that will lay the foundation for future reconciliation commitments. As Mark Hoffman-Davis, SYC CEO, stated:
"This plan reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace and community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are respected and celebrated. By embedding reconciliation into everything we do, we aim to make a lasting impact—one that supports self-determination, promotes equity, and strengthens opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples."
At SYC, we stand united in our reconciliation journey, working together as an organisation and as individuals to bring this vision to life for everyone who connects with us.
