We are proud to announce that SYC has been successful in our tender for the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program for 2024-28. Funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the SEE Program is a vital initiative providing free language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills (LLND) training to eligible Australians.
The SEE Program has been expanded to include all Australians aged over 15 years who have left school, eliminating the previous requirement to be a registered job seeker. This redesign opens up opportunities for more individuals to benefit from the program’s provision of essential skills training.
As of July 2024, SYC will be the sole provider delivering the redesigned program in the Murray and South East Region of South Australia.
“Our Education and Training team is uniquely positioned to deliver an engaging and effective program, helping participants develop the skills necessary for employment or further study,” said Stacey Dutschke, SYC's Chief Operating Officer for Employment and Education.
“With each participant partnering with one of our dedicated Support Officers, we will create a learning environment where everyone feels comfortable and confident.”
Our services go beyond foundational skills training. SYC will be focused on creating pathways to employment and further education, offering work experience opportunities and connections to local community organisations and services. We will be working closely alongside employers and employment service providers to ensure a streamlined referral process for their clients.
By enhancing participants' foundation skills in reading, writing, math, and computer skills, we open doors to secure employment opportunities across various industries. Whether participants are native English speakers or from non-English speaking backgrounds, the SEE Program is designed to empower them with the skills they need to succeed.
