Supporting Young People into Work

At SYC, we know that finding employment is rarely a straightforward process and the right support can make all the difference.

Workforce Australia – Transition to Work, is designed to support young people aged 15 –24 as they navigate the move from school into employment. The program offers free support to school leavers and young job seekers who are Australian citizens or hold an appropriate visa, assisting them to develop their skills, build confidence, and move into employment or further education. Through one-on-one coaching, practical workshops, and employer connections, participants are supported every step of the way.

Our dedicated Transition to Work team works alongside each participant to understand their goals, provide tailored guidance and support their progress through each stage of the job search.

Recently, the team attended a Compass Group Jobs Briefing through the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program. They identified a great opportunity for one of our participants, and with the right support through the referral and interview process, the participant secured the role and is now proudly thriving in the workforce.

This outcome is a fantastic example of what can happen when young people are supported to build their confidence and skills. Through tailored guidance, real-world opportunities and a focus on long-term success, the Transition to Work program helps young people take meaningful pathways toward employment.
