Meet Alicia, Apprenticeship Field Officer

As an Apprenticeship Field Officer at SYC, Alicia works closely with apprentices and employers, supporting them through every stage of the apprenticeship journey. From onboarding to completion, she helps create strong foundations for long term success.

For Alicia, what makes the role meaningful is seeing people grow, not just in skills but in confidence and ambition.

“My favourite part of the role is watching people start their career in fields they’re passionate about, complete their qualification and later take on apprentices of their own.”

Since joining SYC, she has been involved in helping establish Australian Apprenticeship Support Services in a new and growing area of the organisation. Being part of building something from the ground up has been a career highlight.

“I’m really proud of coming over to SYC in a space the organisation hadn’t explored before and helping the program get started.”

Working in the apprenticeships space, Alicia sees firsthand the impact strong apprentice and employer support can have, not only on individuals but also on the broader industry.

“I love seeing employers take on apprentices and genuinely care about the meaningful work they do and the support they offer. Being part of someone’s journey is really rewarding.”
