Cheyanne had almost given up hope of finding the right job. After months of sending applications with no response, she joined SYC’s Workforce Australia Employability Skills Training (EST) program to rebuild her confidence and try a new approach. Today, she’s proudly working in her dream role.

“I had low hopes before I started. I was applying for so many jobs and not hearing back, which really affected my confidence,” shares Cheyanne.

Through the EST program, Cheyanne discovered her strengths and learned how to present them confidently to employers, both in writing and during interviews.

“Our trainer was an absolute legend. Thanks to his guidance, patience, and dedication to helping us grow, I started seeing things differently and believing in myself again.”

The program also helped Cheyanne develop practical job search skills, from writing resumes and cover letters to preparing for interviews. With support from her trainer and fellow participants, she gained the confidence to apply for roles she truly wanted. That confidence paid off when she secured her dream role.

“I’m so grateful I took part in this course. It completely changed my approach to job searching and helped me land my dream job.”

Cheyanne’s journey shows how SYC’s Employability Skills Training, delivered through Workforce Australia, helps people build confidence, gain practical job search skills and take the next step toward meaningful employment. Her story highlights how support, guidance, and skill development can help people overcome barriers and achieve their career goals.

Congratulations Cheyanne!
