Strength, Vision, Legacy: NAIDOC Week 2025

news_img

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week, a milestone in celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

SYC teams came together to participate in community events, host local celebrations, and reflect on the significance of this important week.

A highlight of the celebrations was a special online session available with Uncle Joey from Creating Ripples, who shared personal stories about his upbringing, family history and community work. His words inspired reflection and meaningful conversations among our teams about connection, culture and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.

Throughout the week, our people took time to listen, learn and celebrate, recognising the strength, resilience and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These celebrations form part of SYC’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation through our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, which guides how we learn from, work with and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Thank you to everyone across Team SYC who took part in NAIDOC Week 2025 and to those who shared their stories and traditions with us.
