Connecting Young People with Local Jobs

Our Workforce Australia Transition to Work team had a fantastic time at this year’s Youth Job Meet. Returning for its fourth year, in collaboration with the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program and other providers, the event continues to bring the community together to support young people.

With more than 60 employers, RTOs and apprenticeship providers participating, young people had the chance to explore opportunities, practice interview skills and take steps toward meaningful work or study. Several participants even landed interviews on the spot!

At SYC, we know that finding employment is rarely a straightforward process and that the right support can make all the difference. Workforce Australia – Transition to Work is designed to support young people aged 15 –24 as they navigate the move from school into employment. The program offers free support to school leavers and young job seekers who are Australian citizens or hold an appropriate visa, assisting them to develop their skills, build confidence, and move into employment or further education. Through one-on-one coaching, practical workshops, and employer connections, participants are supported every step of the way.
