National Careers Week running from the 12 to 18 May, highlights the important role career development plays in helping people of all ages explore their options, build skills, and shape their futures.
At SYC, we have a relentless belief in people and their potential. Whether someone is just starting out, changing direction, or ready to grow, we’re here to help them take the next step.
Over the weekend, our team took part in the Adelaide Careers and Employment Expo, one of the largest events of its kind in South Australia. Held at the Adelaide Showground, the Expo brought together over 200 organisations and more than 10,000 attendees across two days.
Our team loved connecting with students, job seekers and people exploring a new career. A highlight was hearing from Stacey Dutschke, our Chief Operating Officer of Employment and Education, who spoke on the Dollars & Direction: Setting Yourself Up from Day One panel, presented by My First Job. Stacey shared advice for young people entering the workforce, including tips on making a strong first impression and building long-term career foundations.
This year’s National Careers Week theme, Future Frontiers: Navigating New Career Pathways, is all about helping people adapt to a changing workforce. Led by the Career Industry Council of Australia, the week is a reminder that no two career journeys are the same and that the right support can make all the difference.
At SYC, we’re proud to be part of that support. From nationally recognised training to employment and apprenticeship support services, we’re here to help people build skills, find opportunities, and move forward with confidence to find a meaningful career.
Explore our Education and Training page and learn how we support apprentices and employers as an Apprentice Connect Australia provider.
