How SYC supports you

As a First Nations Specialist Apprentice Connect Provider, we provide our apprentices with a range of additional support and services:

  • Holistic Support: We collaborate with you and your family to provide comprehensive support.
  • First Nations Mentors: Our experienced team includes mentors who identify as First Nations, offering apprentices relatable guidance and support.
  • Community Connection: We foster strong connections with community and First Nations organisations to support you.
  • Targeted Opportunities: We identify and target opportunities with employers committed to Closing the Gap, including industry-specific opportunities for First Nations people.

Study assistance

If you are an apprentice or trainee and you identify as a First Nations Australian, you can apply for the ABSTUDY support payment through Services Australia.

You may be eligible if you are:

  • An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian; and
  • Not receiving other payments to study or train.
