SYC and The Workabout Centre collaborate for Next Steps Aboriginal Youth Expo

Last month, SYC, in collaboration with The Workabout Centre, hosted the Next Steps Aboriginal Youth Expo, an inspiring event aimed at connecting Aboriginal students with a wide range of opportunities in education, employment and training.

The expo was a great success, featuring over 25 stalls from local businesses, training organisations, universities and government services. Among the exhibitors were Woolworths, TAPS and the Adelaide University. SYC also showcased its Australian Apprenticeship Support Services, helping students explore pathways into apprenticeships.

The event gave Workabout students the opportunity to speak directly with industry professionals, ask questions and gain valuable insights into a variety of career and study options. Throughout the morning, students collected resources and received guidance to support their next steps after school.

Events like the Next Steps Aboriginal Youth Expo play a vital role in empowering young people by giving them access to the information, support and networks they need to make informed decisions and pursue meaningful careers.
