Sandra’s Impact at SYC

This year marks 10 years at SYC for Sandra, Site Manager at one of our Workforce Australia sites in Victoria.

With almost 20 years of experience in the employment services industry, Sandra is passionate about helping people build confidence, navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

“I enjoy helping participants overcome barriers and move into sustainable employment, while also supporting staff to build confidence and develop their skills,” Sandra shares.

In her role, Sandra focuses on strengthening team performance and participant outcomes, while creating a positive and supportive team culture. Through mentoring and coaching, she works closely with staff to build confidence, capability and consistency across the team.

Sandra is especially proud of the work supporting participants impacted by redundancy.

Over the past 17 months, the team has supported more than 40 participants through redundancy-related transitions, with a majority successfully securing employment and maintaining it for more than three months.

“What I enjoy most about this work is seeing the direct impact that genuine support can have on someone’s life. Redundancy can be an incredibly challenging experience, but with the right support, it can also become an opportunity for growth, renewed confidence and a fresh start.”

For Sandra, the most rewarding part of her role is seeing both participants and staff grow in confidence and achieve outcomes they didn’t think were possible.

As Sandra celebrates 10 years at SYC, we thank her for the care, leadership and commitment she brings to her role and for the positive difference she continues to make.
