Over the last few months, we’ve worked with young people at The Foundry by SYC to facilitate creativity and self-expression through art!

As part of the South Australia Living Artists (SALA) Festival, our youth engagement team have collaborated with young people at The Foundry by SYC to produce a dynamic exhibition titled The Foundry After Dark.

Framed photos of Adelaide, South Australia.

Through painting, photography, music and more young people have engaged their creativity to share their perspectives and experiences.

Caragh, a Youth Engagement Worker at The Foundry, describes the processes behind the resulting artwork as part of a more extensive conversation about self-expression and personal growth.

“Everything the young people have created here speaks to a bigger conversation. The process has been about social connection, purpose and developing positive experiences. Some young people have been surprised by their capability, so the process has built confidence. Many young people are really proud of what they’ve done,” she says.
