During a visit to Australia In 1988, Diana Princess of Wales made a rare speech in Adelaide at an event SYC co-hosted to celebrate the achievements of young people at the Festival Centre.

“Like most people with small children I often wonder what sort of world our sons will inhabit in the next century. When I meet people like you all here today, I am encouraged to believe that the future will, after all, be something to look forward to.”
