One mean feat (or is that foot?) breaks Guinness World Records™ title!
27 Oct 2016
We are excited to announce that we successfully broke the Guinness World Records™ title for the Largest human image of a foot! The spectacle gained quite a lot of attention in Light Square today with an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ adjudicator in attendance.
The record required more than 260 people to gather together in the shape of a foot, toes and all, and stay in that formation for 5 minutes. In the end 313 supporters joined in to help HYPA break the record, in doing so claiming a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title and raising a lot of awareness for our #TwoFeet fundraising campaign.
The crowd was kept entertained by event MC Haysey from Nova along with the Nova Casanovas. With all participants dressed in white, the shape of a foot was unmistakable from above, as HYPA smashed the previous record held by Tideyo Holdings in Hong Kong. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate creating a giant foot than with a little Kenny Loggins Footloose.
All proceeds from the event will go towards HYPA’s learner driving program, Geared2Drive, which enables young people who don’t have access to a licenced adult with a car to gain their 75 hours of supervised driving to get their Ps.
The #TwoFeet campaign represents HYPA’s core purpose, helping young people gain independence and stand on their own #TwoFeet.
We would like to extend a massive thank you to all the participants for making their #TwoFeet count, as well as our event supporters Adelaide City Council, EY, White Marquee, Nova and Odd Pears. Thanks also goes to State Member for Adelaide and Shadow Minister for Families and Child Protection; Social Housing; Youth; Volunteers Rachel Sanderson as the independent witness. We’d also like to extend a big thank you to our volunteer team who helped us put on an amazing event.
