Learner Support Services (LSS) can assist eligible students with improving study skills and accessing the support they need.
Training providers can refer their students, including apprentices and trainees, to us for this service. We assess case management support needs and determine the next steps to access LSS for students.
Learner Support Services assists students to stay in training and complete their qualification through:
- helping them to navigate the training system
- addressing life barriers to training
- addressing study skill support needs
- help to access other supports available in the community
Students eligible for LSS are those who are studying a qualification on the WorkReady Subsidised Training List (including trainees and apprentices), and need some extra support to complete their studies.
Access to LSS for RTOs
Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) with a WorkReady contract can refer eligible students to us to be assessed for case management support while studying. An LSS Service Agreement with the RTO is required.
LSS is provided as an additional support service to complement and build on RTO student support strategies for students with complex support needs. Referring RTOs will continue to provide appropriate student support and collaborate with us to ensure the student receives the supports they need while training.
Post Course Transition Support
Post Course Transition Support means that we continue to work with students after the completion of their course, for up to 12 weeks. This support aims to ensure a successful transition to either employment or further training.
