Geared2Drive helps young people aged 16-25 years become licenced drivers. Current legislation requires that Learners undertake 75 hours of supervised driving with a licenced adult before they can test for their Provisional licence. But not all young people have access to an adult with whom they can fulfil the 75 hour supervised driving obligation and this can be a significant barrier to young people gaining their driver’s licence.
Geared2Drive provides cars and volunteer supervising drivers to overcome this barrier and provide more young people with the opportunity to eventually become fully licenced drivers. The program operates in Adelaide CBD and in the Onkaparinga Council area.
