Respected employment services provider Job Prospects has gained new ground in Melbourne and South Australia as an outcome of the Employment Services 2015 tender announced Tuesday 31 March by the Department of Employment.
Job Prospects has been successful in winning its bid to provide services in Employment Regions across Melbourne, including Inner Metropolitan, North Eastern, North Western, South Eastern and Peninsula and Western Melbourne, and across regional South Australia and metropolitan Adelaide, including Adelaide North, Adelaide South and Murray and South East, effectively covering areas from the Riverland to Kangaroo Island and Mount Gambier regionally and broad coverage of northern and southern suburbs in Adelaide.
The new employment services program, formerly known as Job Services Australia, is called jobactive and is a five year contract officially starting on July 1, 2015.
Job Prospects currently operates from 23 sites across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, and will be opening an additional 19 sites across Victoria and another six in South Australia, not including the locations where outreach services will be provided, representing another 20 towns or suburbs.
It’s anticipated that Job Prospects will recruit nearly 160 new people to support the expansion, with around 125 in Melbourne and the remainder in South Australia.
A division of SYC Ltd (SYC), a not for profit organisation centred on education, employment and youth services, Job Prospects was established in South Australia in 1995 and entered the Melbourne marketplace in 2009. Last year Job Prospects helped more than 36,000 people of all ages to find work and thousands of employers find the right people for their businesses.
A large and very important part of this process is working with local employers to understand their workforce needs and help them fulfil those needs with the right people.
SYC CEO Paul Edginton welcomed the news of the expansion of Job Prospects, saying it was a great win for job seekers and employers who were looking for an employment services partner with proven expertise and reliability.
“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve created and are delighted that we’ll be able to offer our services in more areas in Melbourne and South Australia. We look forward to meeting local employers and job seekers alike.
Job Prospects Chief Operating Officer David Furniss said today that the win was testament to Job Prospects’ track record in employment services.
“We’re delighted that our innovative approach and our solid track record have effectively been recognised by the government’s decision to award us further sites in which to operate ” Mr Furniss said.
“We’re committed to offering a quality service to local employers and job seekers in all the Employment Regions that we’ll be operating in and are eager to open our doors on July 1 to get started.”
