Young people supported through SYC’s housing programs have some amazing new furniture in their homes, thanks to a generous donation from Weeks Building Group.

The furniture had been on show in a Weeks’ display home and includes multiple dressed beds, lounge and dining suite, outdoor furniture and several artworks and decorative items.

Weeks Building Group CEO, Peter Mcindoe, is thrilled to partner with SYC to share the furniture with vulnerable young people in the community.

“Weeks work with some of Australia’s best designers to showcase current design trends and furniture pieces, we are thrilled that SYC’s young people can benefit from our work.

“We are passionate about creating beautiful family homes, so supporting young people to create their own, is a vision close to our heart.”

The Weeks Design Team have also offered to create an online tutorial providing advice and tips helping young people style and position the pieces for maximum impact.

SYC’s Executive Director, Liz O’Connell, is grateful for the generous donation and excited about the impact it will have on young recipients.

“Many of the young people we provide housing for have no furniture, and aren’t able to afford everything needed to establish their home. The beautiful furnishings donated by Weeks will be greatly appreciated.

“Enabling a young person to have a safe house is fantastic, but being able to help them transform it into a comfortable space representative of their value and individuality positively affects all aspects of their life. We are very thankful to Weeks Building Group for this generous donation.”
