Chairman

 

Mr Graham Ormsby 

 

Mr Ormsby has been a member of the Board of SYC since 1990.

 

Mr Ormsby has over 30 years experience in the Information Technology arena, including many senior management positions, and brings considerable experience and expertise in the areas of Information Technology and Human Resources to SYC. 

 

He also leads the PR activities of SYC, overseeing the raising of the profile of all our activities within the community.

 

Deputy Chairman

 

Mr Brian Walker  Ass.Dip. M.Eng.

 

Mr Walker has been a member of the Board of SYC since 1995.

 

He is currently employed as a Technical Officer with the Department of Defence.

 

He is the former Chair of the Inner Northern Suburbs Employment Training Scheme and has considerable experience administering labour market operations and training services.

Mr David Grant Grad Dip. O.H.M., Dip. O.H.S.M., Dip. AIM-Sa., MAITD., M.S.I.A.

 

Mr Grant is currently employed as the HSE Manager, Ensign International Energy Services, with responsibility for the Health Safety & Environmental function internationally, throughout Australasia, Africa, the Middle East and South America.

 

His previous preferment’s include Manager, Injury Management with Allianz Australia, Workers Compensation and Senior Consultant with the National Safety Council of Australia.

 

Mr Grant brings considerable experience in the area of Occupational Health,  Safety and Welfare and Human Resources management to the Board of SYC and has been instrumental in leading the OHS&W Strategy of our organisation.

Mr Terry McGuirk  BA (Hons), MAICUD, FAICD

 

Mr McGuirk is Managing Director of McGuirk Management Consultants Pty Ltd, which specialises in strategy, structure and human resources consulting for the finance industry.

 

Before establishing his consultancy, Mr McGuirk was a senior executive in several accounting firms, including a position as a Director at Price Waterhouse.

 

Mr McGuirk is a director of the Australian Central Credit Union and has previously served as Chairman of SYC.

Mr David Hallett  B.Bus.,(Marketing) FAICD, FAMI, CPM, FAIM, CPMg

 

Mr Hallett is currently a Director of D&J Hallett Group of Companies, dividing his time between business coaching, consulting and managing real estate portfolios and investments.  In addition, Mr Hallett is the Executive Chairman of Halland Investments Pty. Ltd, involved in property development.

 

Mr Hallett brings to SYC a wealth of experience in management, marketing and small business operation, gained from a diverse range of activities in both Australia and internationally.  Joining SYC in 2006, Mr Hallett is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Mrs Arabella Branson

 

Mrs Branson is a partner at O’Loughlins Lawyers which is a specialist corporate and commercial law firm. She practices in the area of commercial transaction and advisory matters.

 

Arabella is a member of the Law Society of South Australia and the Taxation Institute of South Australia.

Mrs Samantha McKee BComm (Acc), CA, MBA, GAICD

 

Mrs McKee is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Mrs McKee brings considerable financial experience to SYC, developed whilst working for multinational companies in the UK and France (including Lucas Varity and Crystal Holidays) and in Australia (for Stockland and Westfield).

 

CEO

 

Mr Paul Edginton  BA Communication Studies GAICD

 

Mr Edginton joined SYC in 2002 and has been CEO since 2005.

 

He was General Manager of Training Prospects (a division of SYC and SA’s largest non-government RTO) and has previously been a director of his own company and held a number of senior positions in private organisations.

 

A Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Mr Edginton brings to our organisation considerable management experience, particularly in strategy, marketing and commercial operations.
