Sticking Together Project
It’s in our DNA to find better ways to support young people in their transition to independent lives. The Sticking Together Project is our innovative approach to youth unemployment. It is a service that helps young people ‘stick’ to work.
The Sticking Together Project was inspired by SYC’s work to develop and advocate for its My First Job Initiative. The fifth ‘pillar’ of My First Job is post-placement support and the Sticking Together Project is the design of a modern, never-before-tried approach to supporting young people.
The project has seen trials in South Australia, Victoria, and Queensland, supporting over 190 young Australians to stick to work. Our blog tracked the progress of the coaches, participants and results of the pilot projects.

Sticking Together Social Impact Bond
We are excited to be expanding the Sticking Together Project in regional NSW and in Sydney in 2019 after entering into a $10m social impact investment with the NSW Department of Industry. Read the announcement here.
The project involves the raising of $5m through a social impact bond in partnership with Social Ventures Australia (SVA). This bond represents the first time in Australia that a social impact investment has focused on youth unemployment – previous social impact investments have addressed social issues such as homelessness, mental health and children in out-of-home care.
